Advanced optimization add-on for EPS / DTS
EPSolver is an optimization engine for production scheduling in mining. It uses a combination of techniques — Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) and Genetic Algorithms / Simulated Annealing — to generate schedules in two modes:
- Feasible scheduling, controlled by task and target priorities
- Optimized scheduling, guided by one or more objectives such as maximizing profit, maximizing production, or minimizing travel distance
The algorithm accounts for resource availability, travel constraints, production targets, material flow restrictions, and stockpile/dump capacities — producing schedules that reflect real operational constraints, not just theoretical ones.
EPSolver can also make use of CPLEX where a license is available, for additional solver performance.
